On October 18, 2011, Mato Seco will take another big step in its career. Recordings will begin for the band's new CD - "Seco e Ainda Vivo", with a series of new features and special appearances.
PRODUCTION
The CD will be produced by one of the greatest Jamaican reggae legends of all time - Errol "Flabba" Holt, bassist and founder of Roots Radics. "Flabba"'s career began in the early 70s and he has recorded and performed live with a huge roster of Jamaican artists. Names like Israel Vibration, Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, Sugar Minott, Barrington Levy, Don Carlos, Augustus Pablo, Bunny Wailer, Earl Sixteen, Freddie McGregor, The Heptones, Hugh Mundell, The Itals, Johnny Osbourne, The Meditations and Wailing Souls are just a few that appear on your resume. As a producer, Flabba Holt, among other works, was responsible for shaping one of Reggae's greatest masterpieces to date - Gregory Isaacs's album "Night Nurse". In addition to the participation of the famous bassist, the album will be mixed and mastered in Jamaica by Christopher Daley, the sound engineer responsible, among other works, for the album "Jah is Real" by Burning Spear, which won the Grammy for best Reggae album. Chris is a sound engineer for Israel Vibration and has mixed (in addition to Burning Spear and Israel Vibration) albums by artists such as Culture, Beres Hammond, The Congos, Eek-a-Mouse, Judy Mowatt and John Holt.PARTICIPATIONS ANDSPECIALS
The album, which will be very special for Mato Seco, could not fail to feature high-level participation. Among the names that the band will record are Groundation (EUA), Max Romeo (Jamaica), Bambu Station (Virgin Islands), Oswaldinho do Acordeon (Brazil) and Nazireu Rupestre (Brazil). The relationship with these artists emerged during the last two years in which Mato Seco established itself as one of the biggest reggae bands in the country and had the opportunity to share the stage in several shows and get closer to these and other great music artists on a daily basis. Without a doubt the new album will be a milestone in the band's career and also for Reggae in Brazil, given the group's current position and obviously the big figures involved.Category
