3. Special Ras Culture: The Seal of Solomon.

3. Special Ras Culture: The Seal of Solomon.
The six-pointed star is a well-known symbol, used as a talisman, an amulet attracting positive energies recommended against any type of adversity, natural or "supernatural." It is made as a figure or object and can currently be found adorning environments, clothing, publications, and objects such as medals, pendants, and rings. In the books of all good occult masters of the West, there are comments on this symbol, also known as the Star of David and Seal of Solomon, names that indicate its antiquity. In fact, the six-pointed star dates back to pre-Christian eras, truly nebulous times, and is not exclusive to Jewish culture; on the contrary, it belongs to the collection of magical signs of different peoples at different times. The star is a legacy that the patriarchs of Israel received in the context of the religious syncretism resulting from the encounter of Hindu-Aryan (India) and Semitic cultures of Mesopotamia (present-day Iraq). Since Abraham, the star has traversed centuries to reach King Solomon, son of King David. The secrets of the star were revealed to Solomon as part of his initiation into the Mysteries of God. Solomon, a representative icon of wisdom, was, indeed, a Mage, that is, a knower of metaphysical forces. The "historical legend" states that Solomon obtained the revelation of the Occult Sciences from a divine source, a Science that consists of Jewish Kabbalah, the "magic" of the power relations between numbers and words.
(The Seal of Solomon)
Kabbalah deals with the control of mental energy (or thought) through a system of rituals (repeated actions) where the use of symbols accompanied by invocations (speeches, calls, verbal formulas, verses, prayers) stands out. The six-pointed star is considered the most powerful of the Kabbalistic magical symbols, used as a meditation object whenever one desires a connection with God. Such meditation aims to achieve a state of consciousness that is neither sleep nor wakefulness, characterized by the experience of forgetting or abstraction of the personal Ego (the personality conditioned by the world) and the consequent feeling of identification with the Real Self, the higher Self that is One or inseparable from the Creator of All Things. This unity of man with God is the reason why all the religions of the world affirm that "God is within each one of us." The "Namaste," greeting of the Japanese, means "The God that dwells in me greets the God that dwells in You."

PYTHAGOREAN FOUNDATIONS

Pythagoras was a Greek philosopher dedicated to mathematical studies and recognized as an Initiated Occultist. In his system of explaining reality, he considered "Number" as the metaphysical matrix of the objective universe, that is, reality emanates from combinations of "numerical entities" realized on a subtle ontological plane (plane of abstract Being, not physical), not perceptible to human senses. When Pythagoras says "Number," he means being or beings that are metaphysical and primordial. Each number, on a scale from 1 to 9, represents a "metaphysical entity" or a reality, a metaphysical situation that evolves until it projects into a concrete reality.
(The philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras of Samos)
In subatomic physics, matrix particles (electrons, protons, neutrons, mesons, positrons, etc.) combine in different ways in the composition of different substances. In atomic physics, elements (hydrogen, oxygen, helium) establish "bonds" forming compounds, such as water - H2O or 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom. It should be noted that particles and atoms, invisible to the human eye, are constituents of all perceptible matter, including the bodies of creatures. This demonstrates how, from the dimension of the invisible, creatures emerge in the dimension of the visible, or what is invisible to the eyes of men can become visible with a more powerful optical device, such as an electron microscope.

GEOMETRY & MATHEMATICS OF THE STAR

The relationship of the Star of David with Kabbalah, and consequently with mathematics, lies in an evident fact: the star is a geometric figure and, therefore, directly associated with the relationships between mathematical magnitudes. As a geometric figure, the star is composed of two equilateral triangles (a triangle that has three equal sides and therefore three proportionally equal angles) of equal dimensions (with equal side lengths). These equalities are a first indication of the balance of the figure. Mathematically, at first glance, the star is associated with the number 6. It happens that this number is a composite number, that is, it is decomposable, just as a homogeneous chemical compound is decomposable in a laboratory. The division of a number into its minimum components is called reduction. Reduction reveals what values relate in producing a result. The 6, when reduced, shows a relationship between 3 and 2.
(Star: Equality and Balance)
6 = 3x2, and it is necessary to state this proposition to perceive its broad meaning "3 multiplied two times," or a "3" that "becomes two 3s." In addition, in addition operation, 6=3+3 and both operations, addition and multiplication, are merely codes that represent an abstract equality: 3x2= 3+3 =6. Decomposing a number is like discovering the parents, the origin, how this number was constituted. Pythagorically, decomposing a number is finding the essence of a Being. By knowing the number that represents a Being or a situation of earthly reality, we could, theoretically, know the essence, the primordial cause of such Being or situation.

POWER OF THE STAR

Whoever uses the star as an object, a necklace, a ring, or places its figure in an environment, is making a statement of adherence to the meanings it encompasses. Returning to the "metaphysical entity Number 3," still according to Pythagoras and numerous other esoteric masters, such Number corresponds to a "very high entity" in spiritual terms or of energetic purity: The One whom everyone calls God and whom all religions describe as "the One who is Three." Western Catholic-Christian theology recognizes this conception which it calls the Holy Trinity, explaining that IN God, who is ONE, coexist THREE aspects that manifest in the act of Creation. These three aspects are: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Creator, Creature, and the One Mind, the latter which operates the indissoluble union of the first two. As for how God can be THREE IN ONE, this is a question whose answer is simply inaccessible to human intelligence at its current stage of evolution. Theologians call this condition of inaccessibility a "Mystery." Once it is admitted that GOD is THREE IN ONE, it is necessary to clarify that this is the state of the Creator Being in a state of rest, of non-creation, a state also mysterious that Hinduism calls Pralaya or the Night of Brahma. Contemporary physicists assert, similarly, that the Universe exists in two simultaneous states that encompass BEING and NON-BEING, or still, Objective Universe and Subjective Universe. The triangle with the vertex (tip) pointing up is a geometric representation of God in His purest and highest state, subtle, abstract, unmanifested. When God manifests or creates, He projects His infinite possibilities of BEING into a dense, material, physical, concrete constitution, on an ontological scale (of forms of being) that encompasses different degrees of materiality. Resuming the analysis of the triangle: pointed upwards, it represents God in His mysterious condition of Trinity, the Celestial or Spiritual Reality. In contrast, the triangle with the vertex pointing down signifies God's Creation, Earthly or Material Reality. The six-pointed star is, therefore, the sign of the union of the two triangles and, therefore, the sign of the union between Creator and Creature, of Man united with God.

THE SEAL OF SOLOMON - In Western occultism

Representation of the Seal of Solomon created by Éliphas Levi, published in "Dogma and Ritual of High Magic."
Moses descends from Sinai with the Tablets of the Law. In the art of Clara Pechansky, the Seal is already prior to Solomon.

EXPLANATION BY ELIPHAS LEVI

In his work "Dogma and Ritual of High Magic," the 19th-century French occultist Éliphas Levi includes the following comments on the Seal of Solomon: "The perfect verb is ternary, because it implies an intelligent principle, a principle that speaks, and a principle spoken. (...) The ternary is traced in space by the culminating point of the sky, the infinite in height, which joins by other straight lines to the east and the west. But to this visible triangle, reason compares another invisible triangle, which it claims is equal to the first; it is the one that has its vertex in the depth and whose base turned is parallel to the horizontal line that goes from east to west. These two triangles, united in a single figure, which is that of a six-ray star, form the sacred sign of the seal of Solomon, the shining star of the macrocosm. The idea of the infinite and the absolute is expressed by this sign, which is the great pentacle, that is, the simplest and most complete summary of the science of all things. Grammar itself attributes three persons to the verb. The person who speaks; the person to whom one speaks; the thing of which one speaks (first-person personal pronoun, third-person personal pronoun, and object). The infinite principle, when creating, speaks of itself to itself." (LEVI, p 90. Pensamento, 1993)
(The French occultist Éliphas Levi)
...the forms are proportional and analogous to the ideas that determined them; they are the natural character, the signature of this idea (...) and since we actively evoke the idea, the form is realized and produced. (...) The double triangle of Solomon is explained by Saint John in a remarkable way. There are, he says, three witnesses in Heaven: the Father, the Logos (Son), and the Holy Spirit, and three witnesses on Earth: sulfur, water, and blood. Saint John is thus in agreement with the masters of hermetic philosophy (...) sulfur means "the ether" (spirit), water is anima, the vital force, and blood is the flesh, the matter, the earth, the bodies. (...) In the great circle of evocations (magical operations), a triangle is usually traced, and it is necessary to observe well from which side its apex should be placed. If it is supposed that the spirit comes from heaven, the operator must stay at the top and place the altar of fumigations at the base; if it must rise from the abyss, the operator will stay at the base (...) Furthermore, it is necessary to have on the forehead, on the chest, and in the right hand the sacred symbol of the two triangles united, forming the six-ray star (...) and which is known, in magic, by the name of pentacle or Seal of Solomon." (LEVI, p 254. São Paulo: Pensamento, 1993.)

COMMENTARY BY MADAME BLAVATSKY

Elena Petrovna Blavatsky, or Madame Blavatsky, was the founder of the Theosophical Society, whose motto is "There is no religion superior to truth" and whose philosophy rescues sacred Hindu texts, also comments on the meaning of the star, which she warns "is erroneously called the Seal of Solomon," in the fourth volume of "The Secret Doctrine":
(The philosopher and theologian Elena Petrovna Blavatsky, or Madame Blavatsky)
...the number six was considered in the Ancient Mysteries as an emblem of physical Nature because six is the representation of the six directions of all bodies, the six directions that compose their form, namely: the four directions that extend in the direction of the four cardinal points, north, south, east, and west, and the two directions of height and depth that correspond to the Zenith and the Nadir. (...) The same idea is found in the double equilateral triangle of the Hindus (...) in their country called the sign of Vishnu, the God of the Wet Principle and Water (...) the lower triangle, with its vertex pointing down, is the symbol of Vishnu (...) while the triangle with the vertex pointing up is Shiva, the Principle of Fire..." (BLAVATSKY - v. IV - p 161. São Paulo: Pensamento, 2003).
