Planta & Raiz heads "Reggae sem Fronteira", a new project that promises to heat up Sundays in SP!

Without nostalgia, but in search of recovering a movement that in the early 2000s revealed many artists in the Reggae and Forró Universitário scene, the Reggae Sem Fronteira project debuts on April 1st. The initiative is curated by Planta & Raiz, one of the bands renowned in the so-called “domingueiras reggae” of the extinct KVA, Projeto Equilíbrio, Reggae Night and many other clubs and parties.
Reggae Sem Fronteira will feature special shows by the band in all editions and, every 15 days, it will invite artists from the most diverse segments to take the stage, without prejudice. In these appearances, the guest will have the freedom to play at least two songs from his career, accompanied by Planta & Raiz and, afterwards, a fusion with the band takes place, surprising the public with hits that do not usually appear in the usual repertoire of both artists.
On the opening night, the guest will be the partner of Emicida, Rael da Rima, a rapper recognized not only in São Paulo, but throughout the world,
as he participated in international festivals – such as Jazz in Montreal in Canadá – and film soundtracks, in addition to the series Antonias (Globo). In addition to taking Rap to Reggae Sem Fronteira, Rael also adds a lot of musical personality and concept to this first edition of the event.
In this project, borders will truly have no limits and all artists and musical styles will be welcome, from Samba, RAP, Rock, Reggae, MPB or even an instrumentalist. For the next editions, names such as Fernando Anitelli (Teatro Mágico), Helinho (Ponto de Equilibrio), Leandro Lehart, rock bands and all the rhythms will be together, etc. are already being considered.
With a 14-year career, 6 CDs and 1 live DVD that together sold 500,000 copies and collected many hits on Brazilian radio and TV, Planta & Raiz takes over from Reggae Sem Fronteira in gratitude for everything it absorbed from the “antigas” Sundays and the enriching experiences lived since then.
Reggae sem Fronteira will be launched on April 1st at Carioca Club Interlagos, a recently opened venue at Zona Sul of São Paulo.
