At a time when digitally distributed music is experiencing a notable expansion in different parts of the world, mainly in Brazil, the traditional VP Records, based in the USA, with branches in Canada, England and Japan, renewed representation in the country this month with Brazil Deluxe. To give you an idea of ​​its importance, this record label is considered the largest and oldest reggae label in the world. VP Records was responsible for the international release of artists such as Sean Paul, Sizzla, Morgan Heritage, Wayne Wonder, Elephant Man and Tanto Metro & Devonte, Shabba Ranks, Super Cat and Beres Hammond, among others.
Founded in the 1950s by Vincent Chin and his wife Patricia, the record label was also responsible for the illustrious Studio 17, where artists such as Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs, Peter Tosh and Lee Perry. Based today on Estados Unidos, but with solid roots on that Caribbean island, VP has been promoting with great success the sounds heard on the streets of Kingston, London and Nova Iorque, alongside the international hits of artists such as Gyptian, Bushman, Bounty Killer, Shaggy, Alborosie, Morgan Heritage and many others. In time: it was in the VP Records studio that the legendary Bob Marley recorded a large part of the famous album Catch a Fire.
