REGGAE ’meets’ SAMBA. Something like ’Reggae meets SAMBA’. This is the title of the Brazilian documentary about the singer Marcia Griffiths, which is currently being filmed in São Paulo.
It is a film that addresses not only the singer's career, but also the development of reggae music around the world. "Reggae meets Samba" is being produced by the Bahian producer, Bossanova Films.
The film talks about my musical journey and also about reggae. The producer thought I would be a good character..." - said Marcia.
Marcia Griffiths, whose career began in the 60s, recorded several songs together with the legendary producer Coxsone Dodd, including "Feel Like Jumping" and "Really Together", in partnership with Bob Andy. In the 70s, it became very famous for being one of I-Threes, the official vocal group of the Bob Marley band, which still had Rita Marley and Judy Mowatt as members.
