The series "Marley Africa RoadTrip" is a documentary produced and directed by David Alexanian. Recorded in 2010, exactly 30 years after Bob Marley performed a historic concert at Zimbabwe, the series celebrates the country's independence and calls for an end to its civil wars.
This incredible and fun production follows Ziggy Marley and his two brothers, Robbie and Rohan, on a journey through urban African communities and even wild savannas, which ends up becoming the backdrop for a spectacular show.

"Marley Africa RoadTrip" captures the highs and lows of this trip made entirely on motorcycles, and brings a whole discussion about reconnecting with one's origins and returning to the motherland Africa, which Bob Marley loved so much. At one point in the series, which was recorded during Copa do Mundo Africana, the brothers go to a game between Brasil and Costa do Marfim.

A HISTORICAL SHOW
The main focus of the series sees Ziggy planning to hold a free concert at Soweto (up-and-coming neighborhood near Joanesburgo) with only local musicians. The star meets a diverse range of artists along the way, and assembles his "team" in record time, as he still needs to teach them how to play his father's songs, and have everything properly rehearsed so that the result is as natural and spontaneous as possible.
