República do Reggae will feature a handicraft exhibition from Arembepe! Check it out!
Not only music will be the Republic of Reggae 2014. Maintaining the tradition of the last five years, the 11th edition of the biggest festival of the Jamaican genre in Latin America will host Aldeia Hippie de Arembepe. The space will have stands for marketing and displaying products made in the region. The Republic takes place on November 15th (Saturday), from 6pm, at Wet’n Wild. Various items that make up the Crafts Fair in Arembepe and produced by the local residents themselves will be available in the Village, such as earrings, bracelets, necklaces, t-shirts, paintings, among many others. The goods will be sold at popular prices, just like in the region of origin.
(Necklaces, earrings and other crafts)

AREMBEPE HIPPIE VILLAGE

Around 80 families today live in the village of Arembepe. They are people of all ages and from different parts of the world. The craft center is a meeting point for local residents, where they can display their art. The village is made up of rustic huts, most of which are built of wood and straw, without much concern for comfort. Arembepe, which belongs to the district of Camaçari, was discovered by alternative people in the 70s.

REPUBLIC OF REGGAE 2014

(Republic Reggae 2014)
In its 11th edition, República do Reggae once again brings to the capital of Bahia a select group of artists of the genre. This year, bands such as Midnite, Tribo de Jah from Maranhão and Rio's Ponto de Equilíbrio have already been confirmed, as well as singer Dezarie, from the king of Bahian reggae, as he is known, Edson Gomes, and Bunny Wailer, one of the members of the original formation of the group The Wailers, together with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. The biggest reggae festival in Latin America will also have a second space, Palco Resistência, where several other bands and singers reinforce roots reggae.
