República do Reggae is the largest festival of the genre in Latin America and is completing 13 years. Production for the event on November 19 has already confirmed the first two attractions — legendary Jamaicans Israel Vibration & The Roots Radics and Ponto de Equilíbrio, releasing their new album "Essa é a nossa música".

ISRAEL VIBRATION

Israel Vibration vocalists Skelly and Wiss met at a polio rehabilitation center as children and overcame all barriers through music, today celebrating 38 years of career. Owners of a contagious stage performance and instrumental weight rarely matched by other groups, they continue shaping and redefining Reggae Roots for the world. In the band, some of the most legendary Jamaican musicians such as Errol "Flabba" Holt (bass), Steve Golding (guitar), Dwight Pinkney (guitar), Richard Johnson (keyboards), Bunny Brissett (backing vocals), plus sound engineer Christopher Daley who won two Grammys working with Burning Spear.

PONTO DE EQUILÍBRIO

Ponto de Equilíbrio is on tour launching the new album with major guest appearances including Italian Alborosie, Alexandre Carlo (Natiruts), Gabriel o Pensador, Oriente and Emicida. Ponto, as fans call it nationwide, is one of the most popular national reggae bands in activity and has even represented Brazil in Africa, Europe and other South American countries such as Argentina and Chile.

This year brings some changes to the festival dynamics. The Resistência Stage, dedicated to emerging bands fighting year-round, will have some attractions chosen through public voting over the coming weeks.
