Find out which Brazilian artist brought world reggae legends together for his new album!
The national reggae scene has its eyes on a rising new light growing in one of Brazil's most active cities for the genre: Salvador. Igor Salify is part of the new generation of reggae in the country, first drawing real attention after the release of his album "O Peão e o Rei" in 2013, a genuine critical and commercial success.

The project marked the beginning of his friendship with young producer Werner Argolo, with whom he formed a professional and promising duo. Creative and restless, Werner and Salify kicked off a far more ambitious project in the early days of 2016. "Vivendo o Agora" is an album with 12 original tracks, featuring lyrics in both Portuguese and English that showcase the singer's full vocal power and the producer's sonic brilliance.

A TEAM OF RESPECT

Recorded at Estúdio Pedra de Céu, amid the lush nature of Santo Amaro, in the Recôncavo Baiano, "Vivendo o Agora" also excels in its collaborations. On the executive production side, Rafael Costa — a young professional connected to major projects in the genre, including national and international tours, as well as the Surforeggae Portal with nearly 20 years of activity — brought new horizons to the production.
The partnership resulted in invitations extended to true legends of world reggae, who will make more than special guest appearances on the album. Among them: Vaughn Benjamin, vocalist of Midnite and Akae Beka, respected groups from the Virgin Islands; Gondwana, the largest reggae band in South America, having performed in over 45 countries; Jamaican Michael Rose, original vocalist of Black Uhuru and Grammy winner; Luiz de Assis, vocalist of the band Vibrações, one of the pillars of Brazilian reggae; Laurent "Tippy" Alfred, one of the most successful reggae music producers in the world over the past 15 years; and Edu Sattajah, respected bassist of the band Leões de Israel.

"Vivendo o Agora" features compositions filled with reflections on nature and everyday life, along with love songs and musings on each person's individual beliefs. The album's pre-release event will take place on November 19th at 5pm at the Festival República do Reggae, in a show that promises plenty of energy and emotion. The full digital release will be announced soon.
