Salvador Reggae Day! Bahia's capital celebrated National Reggae Day with strong emotions!
Last Sunday, May 13 was marked on Salvador's calendar, one of Brazil's reggae capitals. The "Salvador Reggae Day" event at the familiar Parque da Cidade livened up Mother's Day with some of the highlights of the Bahian scene. The audience showed up and vibed together until the end, marking a day of congregation between artists and fans of the rhythm immortalized by Jamaicans. With performances by Igor Salify, Zabah Bush and Mosiah Roots and appearances by Jeremias Gomes, Renata Bastos and Prince Áddamo, Salvador Reggae Day celebrated the national and municipal reggae days, officially observed on May 11 according to federal and municipal laws. During intervals DJ and MC Fayakayano hosted the party.

IGOR SALIFY

Igor Salify is one of the highlights of the new generation of Bahian reggae and recently released his new album "Vivendo o Agora" with major national and international guest appearances. The artist and his band have been gaining experience at the state's main festivals, and at Salvador Reggae Day the performance was vibrant.

The repertoire included tracks from the debut album "O peão e o rei", plus new hits like "Tudo o que é real", "Submundo" (featuring Vaughn Benjamin of Midnite) and "So Higher" (featuring Jamaican Anthony B). Salify also welcomed to the stage the heir to the king of national reggae, Jeremias Gomes, son of Edson Gomes, who fired up the audience. Igor Salify, Jeremias Gomes, Zabah Bush and others who performed at the event represent the renewal of the scene in the state.

ZABAH BUSH

Daniel Pontual, better known as Zabah Bush, is also a well-known figure on the Bahian reggae scene. He was part of the band Semente da Paz, which won many fans, and in this new phase is showing increasingly professional work. His band is made up of experienced scene musicians like Djah Vicen7e and Ricardo Red Lion, also known from other projects such as Red Meditation and Moa Anbesa.

Zabah Bush is also preparing to release an album recorded at Ital Studios, a reggae stronghold in Salvador. In his performance the artist blends new influences with traditional reggae of militant and romantic lyrics and the pulsating beat of Raggamuffin. Zabah's special guest was Renata Bastos, who had the audience remember songs by the king of reggae, paying tribute to Bob Marley who left us on May 11, 1981.

MOSIAH

The third act of the reggae afternoon was the band Mosiah, led by Luciano Correia and João Paulo Castelhano. Beloved wherever they go, Mosiah's musicians have 20 years of band and parallel project experience. Renato Nunes, bassist of Diamba who has also backed various local and even international names, took part in the show which also featured Prince Áddamo.
