Born in the city of Santo Antônio de Jesus, in the interior of Bahia, singer and songwriter MAVI arrived in Salvador as a child. His start in music came at fifteen, when he began playing cavaquinho in bands from the region. Soon after, he was already moving through local rhythms, accompanying artists of different musical styles. In 2005 he was invited to take over vocals for the reggae band Tallowah, and his love for Jamaican music spoke louder. With the band, the singer performed many shows and recorded two albums, with special mention for “Atitude, Consciência e Fé”, produced by Nilson Nascimento, known for his work with Edson Gomes, Edu Ribeiro, Cativeiro, Dionorina and others. After leaving Tallowah, MAVI now follows a solo career that should culminate in a first album planned for 2020. While the album does not arrive, the artist releases his second single, the track "Desejo", an authentic lovers rock.
