Check out the release of 'Fluid', the grand debut album by Orange Roots!
When the fluidity and experimentation of psychedelia meet the groove and transcendence of reggae, and the many sensations and atmospheres of poetic progressive song merge with the ancestry and colors of the sound of the heart, the psychedelic roots progressive reggae sound of Orange Roots emerges. This Friday, 09/27, the Surforeggae Sound System Brazil label released Fluid, the debut album by Orange Roots, on all platforms. Orange Roots is a contemporary progressive reggae group. By fusing psychedelia with transcendental reggae, it honors its musical ancestry, touches the heart and defines the atmosphere. The voice and image of this fusion between modern and ancestral comes from rasta singer Jahgun, based in L.A., USA. His smooth, harmonic and melodic tone, his influences and experiences from previous projects fit perfectly with the project’s idea, which is not limited to music. The entire visual identity of Orange Roots is an aesthetic concept based on afrofuturism and psychedelia, an artistic creation by photographer and visual artist Max Fonseca, a researcher of cultures rooted in Africa.
Orange Roots finished the production of Fluid, a nine-track album recorded at Estúdio Casa das Máquinas in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Talented musicians from afrobeat, reggae, rock, jazz and funk took part, including Tadeu Mascarenhas (keys), Fabrício Mota (bass) and Iuri Carvalho (drums). Production is by Emmanuel Mirdad, composer of the songs and the group’s musical and artistic director, and Átila Santtana (guitars), a producer and arranger specialized in reggae. The concept and visual creation are by Max Fonseca, with photos by Karim Saafir. Orange Roots has no borders; it is a group that seeks, through audiovisual language, to flow through the minds of people of different ages, ethnicities and musical tastes in the contemplation of its progressive and psychedelic reggae.
