Bob Marley's grandson Jo Mersa releases new EP Eternal on Ghetto Youths International!

The surname “Marley” easily refers to the greatest artist of the 20th century. Bob's work is still alive and continues to be renewed and bringing new influences through his children and grandchildren, such as Jo Mersa Marley. Jo Mersa is the son of Stephen Marley, an artist who has won no less than 8 Grammys in his career as a singer and music producer. The grandson of the king of reggae was born into the musical world and debuted in 2014 with the EP “Comfortable”, very well received by international critics. Since then, Mersa has established strong partnerships. Among them, the song “Light it Up” by Morgan Heritage, which won the Grammy in 2016 (album “Strictly Roots”), “The Fruit of Life” with his father Stephen Marley and “Point of View”, with his uncle Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley. After six years, Jo Mersa Marley has just released “Eternal”. The project has 7 tracks, and features from Busy Signal, Kabaka Pyramid and Black Am I. This new step is just a sample of the potential that the artist has been showing since the beginning of his career.

In “Eternal”, Jo Mersa transcends all Reggae barriers, bringing influences from electronic music, hip hop and Jamaican dancehall (a style that has won over even Brazilian artists such as Iza and Anitta). The lyrics are tactically placed in the current moment and talk about themes such as the love of music, confrontation with the injustices of society and also the female presence in their lives. This release by the artist from the Ghetto Youths International label shakes up the structures and is infectious with its versatility. A complete work with a narrative connected by sonic progressions, 7 tracks and 23 minutes of great weight.
