Cidade Negra rocks Adler in Vinhedo, but real reggae only at the end!

Cidade Negra rocks Adler in Vinhedo, but real reggae only at the end!
On August 9, Bêca Arruda, Reggalyze and Cidade Negra showed up at Adler venue in Vinhedo. Full house, guaranteed success, but... what happened to the opening bands for the "powerhouses"? Well... Cidade Negra took the stage and started tearing it up with their arsenal of hits. Some dubs, covers and a special for the occasion, Legião Urbana's "Tempo Perdido". Promoting their new work, Cidade Negra thrilled the regional crowd with the new "Girassol" and renowned classics like "O Erê" and "Amor igual ao Teu". Of course it's a smash... especially with the acoustic wave circulating at Adler and mainly the media. All very nice when we remember we still have Bêca Arruda and Reggalyze. Takes a while to break down the instruments... fine... after all it's a big band... let's give credit. But then? Seen through the intervals where the DJ played things between Raimundos, Tijuana, Planet Hemp and Charlie Brow Junior and the crowd went wild, it was clear the overwhelming majority weren't people who lived for Steel Pulse or Gladiators. I think I'm clear, but nothing to do with the bands I just cited... just absolutely different tastes. Well, if we have a practically POP "clinical picture", probably anything that contrasts will be disregarded... and it was. After Cidade Negra's show, by the time the instruments and whole crew left the stage, much of the crowd was already leaving. Even Bêca Arruda, who delivered a good sequence of songs, couldn't contain the "Did Cidade Negra already play? = End of show". "Small" bands like Reggalyze from Natal (RN) ended up taking the stage practically at 5 AM. Result: Many people left tired or because they didn't know Reggalyze's sound. Ok... why not put Cidade Negra last? Everyone would benefit... ironically, this POP show only became real REGGAE at the end... with Reggalyze itself. And those who stayed could delight in covers like Steel Pulse, Bob Marley, Alpha Blondy and not to mention Reggalyze's great compositions. However: 1. For those who like shows, colors, people, POP (popular)... Cidade Negra was great! 2. For those who like well-played sound, pleasant lyrics and good vibes, Bêca Arruda takes care of it. 3. Now, for those who like REGGAE... forgive the others... from the heart, Reggalyze is by far the best band of the night. Cidade Negra... keep up the success, and congratulations on the new work. Bêca Arruda... good sound, great show. Reggalyze... Excellent work, congratulations on the presentation and the strength to overcome difficulties. We know very well what they were. While big promoters of big bands dominate schedules, exposure, band style and so on, the path to success for those starting out gets harder and longer.
