Arrested thief may shed light on case of Veto, Filosofia Reggae vocalist, killed on Monday.

The case of reggae singer Éverton Cristiano Teófilo, known as Veto, 20, killed after an alleged confrontation with military police on Monday afternoon in Vila Gerty, São Caetano, may have developments starting this Thursday. Francisco Laselva, lawyer for the robbery suspect, will visit his client in the city jail.
He is the only one who can say whether Veto participated in the robbery and how the military police acted during the approach.
If he denies that Éverton participated in the robbery, the entire conduct of the police will have to be thoroughly investigated during the inquiry" - the lawyer stated.
Despite the police version that Veto was part of a group of robbers who robbed a real estate agency nearby shortly before, friends, relatives and a witness say otherwise and claim that Corporal André Luiz Ribeiro Cruz shot the singer in the back.
The Military Police inquiry has been opened and Corporal André is in the Military Police Support Program.
When incidents involving death occur, the officer undergoes psychological evaluation and is temporarily removed from active duty for administrative functions during the inquiry. We must investigate technical evidence to avoid injustice" - said Captain Luiz Antônio Dantas Valente, commander of the 4th Company of the 6th Battalion, to which Corporal André belongs.
