Police detain group linked to the robbery in which vocalist Veto of Filosofia Reggae died!

Five participants – two minors – in the robbery of a real estate agency in São Caetano, which culminated in the death of reggae singer Éverton Cristiano Teófilo, known as Veto, 20, were detained this Tuesday. The singer was killed at the beginning of the month after an alleged shootout with police near the robbery location.

He was accused of being one of the robbery participants. Veto's relatives and friends denied he had participated in the robbery and accused police of having killed the wrong man, a fact also confirmed by the real estate agency owner, who did not recognize Veto as a participant in the act.

The arrest of the five was made by the investigation of the 2nd Police District of São Bernardo.

We received an anonymous tip that one of the robbery participants would be on Lions Clube street in São Caetano. We went there and managed to identify a boy, who confessed" - said investigator João Alberto Corrêa.

Minor C.B.S., 17, said he was on lookout outside the robbery. Police also arrested minor M.C.F., 17 on the same street. He was recognized by one of the robbery victims as one of those who made the approach.

Investigators also arrested F..B. and Carlos Eduardo Marques, both 18, accused of having provided the weapons used in the crime, but they denied it. Marques, however, was recognized as author of another robbery. The last to be arrested was Fernando Gabanelli de Souza, 23, accused of having provided backup and fled on a motorcycle.

Despite discovering the gang and indicting them, police could not obtain temporary arrest of the accused due to the election period. The minors are in parental custody and must report to police in the coming days.
