Project Equilibrio: Everyone was "attacked" but by the stones of Roots Reggae!
Project Equilibrio:
On the night of February 15, 2003, Projeto Equilibrio hosted 4 reggae bands for their performances. So far so good, except for the fact that two of these bands are among those that can even be aggressive, such is the weight of their sound and their messages. We are talking about Leões de Israel and the band that is increasingly taking its place in the hearts of regueiros, Ponto de Equilibrio. Around 11:00 PM, it was noticeable that the venue could have been a bit fuller... but that was only a matter of time. Some groups were chatting and others were practicing the wild and curious "Surf de Corrente" (photo). Commerce was very well represented by Bob (photo), the artist who engraves names on small grains of rice, and by the great Jamaica (photo) with his CD rarities such as: The Starlights, The Congos, The Itals, etc.
And so the show begins. Expressão Regueira and Sensimilla played and did their parts well. They got the crowd going, but what you could feel was that the audience showed up solely and exclusively to get "pedrada".
Dj.Tux, on the right (photo), handled the DJ set, and as is characteristic of him, didn't let anyone stop for a minute, even rolling some videos on the big screen of the great Peter Tosh. The Reggae scene nowadays is undergoing some mutations in terms of "who listens". Bands that are bringing messages with more weight and content are shaping the minds of people who end up becoming more critical and demanding. Fortunately, because those who attended the project could notice the distance in styles that Leões and Ponto had from the other bands of the night and some in the national reggae scene.

LEÕES DE ISRAEL
The Leões invade the stage. Right away the dub begins to dictate the heartbeat of the crowd. Always delivering the message of reflection, which becomes very clear in the text "Vivalavanca" (read), Solano Rasta and his troupe infected the crowd with their energy (photo). Time to dive headfirst into the Leões de Israel repertoire. The crowd with songs at the tip of their tongues and the band always giving themselves fully at each show, the result could only be chills and cold drops of sweat. As everything indicated, things would continue at the same level, because at the height of the early morning the stage is taken over by the folks from Ponto de Equilíbrio.PONTO DE EQUILÍBRIO
Anyone who hasn't seen this band perform yet will be left out of many conversations, because these guys are shaking up the National Reggae scene. This band's stage presence easily mesmerizes people. The facial (photo) and bodily expression of vocalist Hélio Bentes is unique, the delivery is all too evident (video). Everyone sang their songs, everyone went wild to the sound and everyone absorbed the message. The weight of Ponto de Equilíbrio's beats (video) made the band from Rio launch itself fully into the Reggae scene of São Paulo and consequently, of Brazil. "Lágrimas de Jah" and "Aonde vai Chegar" only confirm how much the band is being respected and very well accepted. However, those who didn't see it are missing out and those who saw want to see again, and we can say that true Reggae Roots hovered at some point during the São Paulo night where, if we are not careful, we may once again be violently assaulted... with "PEDRADAS"!!!IMAGENS DO EVENTO
