After long hiatus, Leroy Sibbles, veteran singer of The Heptones, releases single from his new album!

After a long time without recording, Leroy Sibbles, veteran singer of the Heptones, releases a single from his new album. The single is circulating on Jamaican radio stations, and will be on sale in a few days. Eight songs are already ready for the new CD, which will be released in early 2004. Heptones fans will be surprised and satisfied according to the singer, who scored hits many years ago such as "Country Boy", "Party Time" and "Fatty Fatty". "The style will be the same as in that golden era," says Sibbles. After several years with the Heptones, Leroy is taking off with his solo career, experimenting with different sounds.

"It's all just inspiration, you cannot limit yourself. If you have the gift, inspiration and will, go ahead," he explains. The last single made by the singer was released last year (2002), and was not very famous. "It was a good sound, but we didn't promote it. I'll do better this time, with the song "I Cry". Comments Leroy. The new CD produced by Leroy Sibbles on his label "Bright Beam", has him playing bass on all tracks. Danny Marshall played the other instruments.

During the 60s, the Heptones led by Leroy topped all the charts, making numerous recordings for Studio One and for the acclaimed producer Clement "Coxsone" Dodd. After that phase, the group recorded for Joe Gibbs, Harry J and Lee Perry, until they split in 1977. Sibbles' first success was Fattie Fattie in 1966, produced by Lee Perry.
