Release of Dagô & Radical Roots' album "Dreadlock" shakes the SESC Pompéia in São Paulo!

On January 15, Sesc Pompéia received positive vibes from a crowd that had only one idea in mind: Enjoy the night with good old Reggae, and Dagô & RadicalRoots were there to provide strong emotions. Launching their new album, Dreadlock, the band has been standing out greatly for its originality, quality and especially charisma, one of the strong points of all members. For those who don't know Dagô's work, they will easily be surprised by the lyrics and the weight of the sound. Singing songs where the theme "love" is almost the main focus becomes very complicated, especially when that is exactly the theme most trivialized by some "successful" bands. But with Dagô & RadicalRoots things are quite different. Love is treated consciously, without gratuitous ideas and also in a more comprehensive way... a brother's love, love for your land, for your ideals, etc. Another thing that draws a lot of attention is RadicalRoots' approach. A heavy and engaging bass, sensational drum fills, first-class backing vocals, percussion, keyboards... in short, for those who think it's an exaggeration, they need to know the Dreadlock album, which ends up being the best choice for those seeking good and original things in this vast world of national reggae. The work also features the special participation of Fauzi Beydoun, vocalist of Tribo de Jah, who was impressed with the band since the first time he saw them at Aeroanta, São Paulo, in 1992. He sings the track "Mama Terra" with Dagô Miranda. We have been talking about the band for several months, since the Reggae Roots Festival at Clube Atletico Nacional, where Surforeggae had the pleasure of meeting and covering such work. Despite being in the spotlight only for some time now, Dagô has been on the road since the beginning of the 90s. Live, this band shows all its competence. The shows are filled with effects, in percussion, in the voice, in the keyboards and this was no different. Some songs were "paused" for a DUB segment. The resumption is incredible. "Traição", "Sentimento", "Ana e a Lua", it's impossible to pick a highlight. All tracks are treated very carefully, and have particularities that make them untouchable throughout the breadth of the work. Dagô always brings his own songs, although he plays and likes everything that is best in world Reggae, but in this show he honored some requests. "Crazy Baldheads" by Bob Marley was performed with mastery, practically introducing the song "Dreadlock", title of Dagô's album, another heavy hit from the king with "Natty Dread". Nowadays the audience follows Dagô word for word in practically all songs, which shows the public's acceptance and admiration for this exemplary artist of the national reggae scene.
