REGGAE night at KVA! Alma D'Jem, Edu Ribeiro, Leões de Israel, Filosofia Reggae, To Fly and more!
The night that shook the structures of KVA in São Paulo, last Friday the 29th, began with DJ Fabrício's DJ set, who announced the first act at 12:30. Alma D´jem was the first band on stage with the repertoire from the new CD. The band mixed covers of Bob Marley, Gilberto Gil, Titãs, and even a participation from the rap group DMN, adding more weight to the song "João" with a snippet of "Racistas Otários" by Racionais Mc´s. According to vocalist Marcelo, the "reggae 'n Roll" drove the crowd wild. After handing over the stage, Vibrações Rasta entered, a band with a more roots pulse whose show is marked by ballads with heavier counterpoints. Meanwhile, forró was running free on the second-floor stage, starting with Trio Xamego. Already known to the venue's audience, they warmed up the crowd for the next act, Forrueiros. After Vibrações Rasta finished on the main stage, To Fly continued the reggae, preceding the much-awaited Edu Ribeiro & Cativeiro, always with a show full of animation and receptivity. At 2:40, Filosofia Reggae took the upper stage, singing their biggest hits. Behind the cadenced reggae drums, one of the vocalists, Daiane. The audience followed from start to finish songs like "Sentimento Bom", "De Quem é a Culpa" and the eternal tribute to Veto, the band's former vocalist murdered under the real name of the song: "INJUSTIÇA". There was also a tribute to Carlinhos from Nação Regueira and the always remembered Bob Marley. Another highlight of the show was the Portuguese version of "I'm Still In Love With You" by Sean Paul, but originally based on Althea & Donna with "Uptown top Ranking". It was time for Leões de Israel, who with Fox's performance in the introduction, called the audience for the start of the "heavy hit". When the brass section sounds, pay attention; When Edu Satta Jah's bass wakes up, get out of the way! "Jah Jah Children", "Me Gwan" and "Treading Around" are just examples of how the upper stage went wild. "Filhos Rebeldes" was sung with great enthusiasm by the crowd. With about 20 minutes of Leões' performance, the main stage received the last act of the night, Edu Ribeiro & Cativeiro. After performing their great hits already of "public domain", Edu Ribeiro thanked those present and the venue, because exactly on that stage, one year ago, he began his journey into reggae, which has been developed with much love and dedication. Emotionally moved, he received applause from his fans who stayed until the last song to support the artist.
