A presentation that no one can fault. This was the Jamaican Siddy Ranks' show, last Saturday, May 7, 2005 in Salvador. The event that marked the artist's return to Bahia, this being his second appearance in the good land, also had the participation of some bands from the Capital's alternative scene, such as “Conexão Jamaica”, “Ed Vox & Papoula” and “Conexão Rasta”. The location chosen for the event was the “CODEBA Warehouse”, in Comércio - Centro de Salvador. The production was one of the strong points of the event, guaranteeing the absence of delays and scheduling problems, leaving the public concerned with what only mattered at the time: honoring the artists. The big highlight of the night was the band “Roots Nyabinghi”, who played with great competence alongside the Jamaican Siddy Ranks, sending the expressive audience into a frenzy with each of the singer's classics, which is, in fact, one of the favorites in Bahia and Maranhão. Siddy Ranks didn't stop for a moment, and showed that he also knows how to do covers with great originality, paying homage to Bob Marley with a different version of “Lively Up Yourself”, as well as “All I have is love” by Gregory Isaacs, an artist with a voice very similar to Ranks'. With stage presence and a lot of energy, the singer showed that he was in perfect shape to give performances of any magnitude. The show was full of hits from Ranks, who showed no sign of tiredness, and was only interrupted due to another performance that he still had to do on the same night, in Feira de Santana, 100 km from the capital. The organizers of the Event are to be congratulated for having managed to bring a great musician and exponent of Reggae to Bahia. We hope that the gesture will be repeated and that it will be possible for so many other important names in International Reggae to perform in Bahia and Brazil.  Thanks: Albino Apolinário, Jerônimo and the entire Production Team for their attention and respect for Surforeggae's work.
