The great bassist Christopher Meredith, who played with Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers and Stephen Marley for the last 30 years, passed away today, July 27th. The family did not notify the press about the cause of death. Chris left us about to turn 55 and with an incredible legacy. He worked not only with those already mentioned, but toured with Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, Israel Vibration, Jimmy Cliff and Sugar Minott. Undoubtedly he became known as one of the greatest bassists in Jamaican Reggae and will always be remembered. Rest in peace.
