Cultural Project Balaio da Tereza gathers major music names in Salvador! Win tickets!

Through the pages written by Jorge Amado, which were later transformed into a miniseries shown by Rede Globo, the long-suffering Tereza Batista became known throughout much of the world. Her trajectory of struggle is intertwined with her own existence, she was orphaned at the age of eight and later, at thirteen, she was exchanged in a business between her family and a rich merchant. She becomes a prostitute after the death of a lover, and begins to fight against the system and the police for the cause, becoming a heroine to her companions. Tired of war and remembered for her libertarian spirit, Tereza Batista will be honored in the square that bears her name in Pelourinho with lots of music, theater and poetry. This is how BALAIO DA TEREZA appears, which aims to innovate and promote the work of new artists, diversifying leisure options at this time. Every night, in addition to the performance of the musical group Los Baganas, host of the project, there will be a show by the bands Lampirônicos (09/07); Ronei Jorge e os Ladões de Bicicleta (16/07); Radiola (07/23); DJs and Special Guests (07/30). In the interval between the shows, there will be a performance by the theater group Cuerpos Dilatados, the school Sitorne and urban poets from Salvador. Thus, the public will participate in a small display of our vast popular culture.
