In November, Black Awareness Month, the long-awaited “República do Reggae” takes place. It is not a cliché, nor a political platform to say that those who rule this republic are Peace and Positivity, the principle and purpose of the reggae message. On the night of the 11th, this already calendar event will bring Salvador, once again, the best of national and international reggae.
This time, heading the list of artists, one of the greatest exponents of Jamaican music and history: the band Gladiators. Living legend for style lovers. A performance of great hits will certainly delight the audience at this 4th edition of the event, which has its audience as proof of its greatness and importance – an average of 20,000 people.
If it is true what the poet says who guesses the close kinship between Bahian culture and Jamaican culture in the saying “Bahia Jamaica cantando reggae”, the synthesis of this idea is achieved here with the presence of the reggae band Olodum, for the first time at the event and expanding the heritage and roots that Jamaican music left in our state. From Maranhão, another part of our country that has embraced the reggae aesthetic, comes the band Tribo de Jah, launching CD new and parading their great hits from almost 20 years of career across the country.
Sine Calmon, notably one of the biggest names in the style throughout the country, also takes advantage of “república 4” to launch CD new and meet the constant requests of fans who demand their presence at the big Salvador events. The band “Ponto de Equilíbrio”, with great success in the southeast and south regions, plays for the first time in the country. A highly anticipated show. With songs from a new work to be released next year, the band “Adão Negro” opens the party blasting old and new hits that made it known in the reggae segment across the country.
The band “Diamba” with its captive audience also brightens the party with CD new and the usual interactivity in addition to a captivating show that has always been a trademark of its trajectory. On the 11th, vote for peace and positivity. This is Reggae!
