The Jamaican vocal duo Israel Vibration, very well accompanied by the unique band Roots Radics, provided people present at the presentations in João Pessoa and Recife with unforgettable moments. Skelly and Wiss came with full force and had a beautiful tour around the country, which was celebrated with the recording of a DVD to be released very soon internationally.
The city of João Pessoa, well known for its beauty and tourist attractions, had the pleasure of welcoming this group on December 14, 2006, a show held at Clube Cabo Branco. Staying in Recife, the musicians and the entire production team traveled to “Jampa” (as the city is affectionately called by some) to give perhaps the most beautiful performance by an International Reggae band there.
Exuding vibrancy and happiness, the musicians constantly invited those present to sing together classics such as “Why Worry”, “Same Song”, “Racial Discrimination” and “Feelin’ Irie”, as well as the most recent songs from the “Fighting Soldiers” album, such as “Tippy Tippy Toes” and “Wish You Was Here”. Without a doubt, a perfect night for lovers of good old roots Reggae, which on this occasion reigned supreme represented by one of its greatest exponents of all time.
The following night, more precisely on December 15, 2006, the “Arena” club, in the middle of Praia da Boa Viagem (postcard of the capital of Pernambuco) welcomed the beasts and a large audience that filled every space of the concert hall. The feeling was that Recife had been waiting for a long time for a Israel Vibration show, given the euphoria seen since the sound check, held in the late afternoon. Shirts, banners with song names and euphoric screams marked the beautiful night that also had the moon to illuminate everyone. With a slightly different repertoire, Roots Radics excited the audience before the entrance of Skelly, Wiss and backing vocalists Kim and Bunny. As usual, the instrumental “Rockford Rock” alongside the instrumental “Night Nurse” (from Gregory Isaacs) did the honors, putting everyone in the most positive vibe.
Recife also had the opportunity to hear a song that had not been in Israel Vibration's repertoire for some time, “The Prophet Has Arise”, the name written on a banner that one of the band's fans held for almost the entire performance, until Skelly responded to the request, excited and ecstatic by the audience. Words are few to describe these days, anyone who was there knows very well what we are talking about. So, whoever wasn't there, here's some advice: don't miss the next Israel Vibration tour!
