Salvador Festival, an event that brought together big names in Brazilian music e international in the capital of Bahia, also had its entire night dedicated e exclusively to Reggae. With the presence of national attractions Mato Seco, Moa Anbesa, Sine Calmon & Morrão Fumegante, Osqvão e Diamba, the event also welcomed with open arms the Jamaican Don Carlos, who came to Brazil exclusively for this show, at the time, replacing Israel Vibration at the time, who was unable to attend due to problems related to work visas. The highlights of the night were the São Paulo native Mato Seco, who came to Salvador for the first time with songs that are already on the lips of the people, e da Moa Anbesa de Salvador who was greatly applauded, including an encore due to the many requests. The great Don Carlos, one of the legends of Reggae, having been the lead singer of Black Uhuru, e who has been pursuing a solo career for many years, came with a repertoire full of classics. Songs like "Holiday", "Zion Train", "Frontline", "Cool Johnny Cool", "Young Girl", "Living in the City" e o his biggest hit - "Just a Passing Glance" were just some of the tracks that made the audience literally raise dust in space. Don Carlos showed that he was in top form, performing a show lasting approximately 1 hour e 30 minutes, which could have been even longer if time had not been restricted by the fact that there was still a band to perform. Don sang, jumped, danced e above all, he was extremely attentive to his fans who were raving in front of the stage. Also noteworthy is the band Planeta Reggae, who accompanied the artist with great competence, e who should do the same soon in May 2008, on his tour of South America. The Salvador Festival Production set up a very good structure, with two stages, top quality sound e lighting in order to receive a large number of people. Unfortunately, perhaps due to the fact that it was a long holiday, the public did not turn out in large numbers. But in any case, we hope that the producers persist e that they hold an even better event next year, bring other big names in music, e above all that the public supports this type of independent initiative.
