With 10 years of success in Bahia, the reggae group Diamba arrives in Rio for a season of performances at Teatro Odisséia, on Tuesdays in July, starting on the 8th. The Bahian sextet will present its reggae with special guests from the Rio music scene. The event also features pick-ups by DJ Fernando Costa, presenter of the program Tambores, on Oi FM.
Diamba is Duda (vocals), Renato Nunes (bass), Caio Frenn (drums), Paulo Marola (guitars), Joab Nunes (percussion) and Tilson Santana (keyboards). The band is on its third album, the product of a show celebrating 10 years of career that brought together 4 thousand fans and created a CD and the group's first DVD, and brings its high-spirited vibe to infect the locals. With the belief that reggae is constantly building and evolving, the group carries the slogan“reggae in evolution”with them. And that's how he creates his music, connecting his Jamaican roots with Brazilian rhythms.
It was in this atmosphere of dialogue and diversity that the group played in the Banda Eva electric trio and performed in the Nana Banana box, at the 2007 Bahian carnival. Also on Bahian soil, Diamba performed a memorable show at this year's Summer Festival. Other special appearances were on stage by the bands The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Alpha Blondy and Pato Banton.
