Diamba wraps up its Rio tour and lines up a show at the Concha with Ponto de Equilíbrio!
After a four-week season in Rio de Janeiro and Minas, the group launches the project "Dia de Encontro", which takes place on August 16th, in Salvador! After a four-week season at Teatro Odisséia, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and shows in the interior of Minas Gerais, the band Diamba, one of the greatest expressions of Brazilian reggae today, returns to Salvador for a big show at Concha Acústica at TCA, on August 16th. The Bahian sextet welcomes the Rio reggae group Ponto de Equilíbrio as a guest, in an event entitled "Meeting Day", which aims to promote the coming together of the best of Bahian reggae with special guests from various parts of the country. The meeting is scheduled for 5 pm and the opening of the show is by Mano Brother, a Bahian pop-reggae band created two years ago and influenced by different rhythms of Brazilian music, such as Cidade Negra, Alceu Valença and Davi Moraes. This will be Diamba's reunion with Concha, after just over a year from the special show to launch the group's first DVD and third CD, called "10 Anos ao Vivo". At the time, the space, the most important for shows in the city, was completely full, with tickets sold out two days before. The group's lead singer, Duda Sepúlveda, highlights that in addition to the historical importance of Concha for Salvador's cultural scene, "it is a special pleasure to play there, due to the 'vibe' that is created with the positioning of the stage in front of the audience and because it is a place that people go with the main objective of listening to the sound". On the Rio tour, Duda, Renato Nunes (bass), Caio Frenn (drums), Paulo Marola (guitars), Joab Nunes (percussion) and Tilson Santana (keyboards) always played to a packed house and received guests such as Da Gama, guitarist from Cidade Negra, the group In Natura, from Brasília (dissident from Natiruts), Ponto de Equilíbrio, with whom he shares this event, Farofa Carioca, Seu Jorge's first band and musical reference from Rio, among others. The national route seems to be a path of no return for the Bahian group. The season in the Southeast of the country provided appearances in major national media outlets, such as major newspapers and special articles and clips on TV stations such as MTV, SporTV, Globonews, Woohoo and several radio stations.

BACK POINT TO BAHIA

Ponto de Equilíbrio, on the other hand, will have the opportunity to perform for the first time a show aimed at its audience in Salvador, as in the other opportunities it performed in the capital of Bahia, it played at major festivals, therefore, for a heterogeneous audience. The band from Rio, born and raised in Vila Isabel, was formed in 1999, after some meetings in a hippie refuge in the interior of Rio. The group brings a strong influence from roots reggae, with messages of love, equality and justice, mixed with other Jamaican elements, such as dub, and the most genuine Brazilian rhythm, samba. Ponto de Equilíbrio has two albums recorded. "Abre a Janela" was released in 2007 by Warner Music in Brazil and earlier this year in European countries, such as Portugal, England and Switzerland, and in Indonesia. The first work, "Regue a Vida com Amor", was released in 2004 and sold more than 50 thousand copies. The group is made up of Hélio Bentes (vocals), Pedro Pedrada (bass), Márcio Sampaio (guitar), Tiago Caetano (keyboard), Rodrigo Fontenele and Marcelo Campos (percussion), Lucas Kastrup (drums) and Rãs André (guitar).
