His latest release "Last Hurrah" (The Last Scream) is scheduled for 2010, and 42 years after entertaining the seven continents with his music and message, the great Jamaican idol Max Romeo has already marked the end of his career. Max maintained an average of one album per year, and has already produced 42 albums, in addition to the countless compilations that have already borne his name.
"I won't make any album after this, everything I had to say I've already said, so if I continue I'll just be repetitive," Max Romeo told the newspaper Jamaica Observer last week. Creator of classics such as "War Inna Babylon", "Chase the Devil", "One Step Forward" and "Wet Dream", Max promises that the new album should be released by Christmas 2010.
Asked about what he will do after the end of his career, Max Romeo says he will dedicate himself to producing his children, continuing his own label and getting closer to nature. And for Brazilians, Max already warns that he intends to pass through Tupiniquin lands before ending his career, and that even if it doesn't happen, for Brazilians to keep an eye out, as his sons Ronaldo (10 years old) and Romário (12) should be producing big hits soon.
