Steel Pulse proporciona momentos mágicos in Salvador após 12 anos de espera! Confira!
The wait was long, but it was certainly worth it! Salvador, one of the capitals of Reggae in Brasil received a visit from Steel Pulse after 12 years of fasting. A lot of time has passed, and the reality of the band is now also different. In 1997, the group was in the phase considered by fans to be "eletro-trash" of their career, with hits such as "Brown Eyed Girl" and the album "Rage and Fury", and currently, the search for the roots that made them explode into the world at the end of the 70s is evident. Despite there being no tradition of reggae shows at the chosen location (Cais Dourado), the faithful public of the capital of Bahia attended and had the privilege of enjoying a show that many people from other cities continue to look forward to. In the presentation schedule, in addition to Steel Pulse, local attractions Adão Negro, Mosiah and Ministereo Público.

BLACK ADAM

Opening the night, Adão Negro warmed the spirits of those present, who seemed to not believe that the English band would actually perform, given the long wait. Songs such as "Anjo Bom", "Adão Negro" and an interesting participation by an emerging band from the local scene - Semente da Paz caused the group to receive a lot of applause, despite the strong presence of a more orthodox audience that impatiently asked for the presence of Steel Pulse.

MOSIAH

During breaks and also before the start of the shows, the people from Ministereo Público commanded the pickup trucks, playing a lot of Early Reggae, Dub and also Dancehall, rhythms that made their Sound System (Sound System) known around the city. The second attraction of the night - the band Mosiah was one of the hosts of the event, as its members were always one of those who most insisted on Steel Pulse coming back to Bahia, and also throughout their career they were one of those who performed the most covers of the English collective in their repertoire. Everyone seemed very happy with the arrival of one of the bands that influenced them the most and that certainly had everything needed to give an excellent performance. Mosiah was once one of the most popular Reggae bands in Salvador, and has been trying to redeem that title, preparing for the release of a CD that should be released soon.

STEEL PULSE

There were 12 years of fasting on Bahian stages, and the delay in changing stages between Mosiah and Steel Pulse left many people anxious and skeptical about whether the show would take place or not. But this was soon forgotten when the English group's samplers echoed in Cais Dourado. Classics like "Blues Dance Raid", "Ku Klux Klan", "Handsworth Revolution", "Your House" and "Drug Squad" drove the Bahian public crazy, and the band put on a show very different from the one seen last year. This time the guitar solos were all there, the energy of the members on stage was completely different, and all the elements that made the group what it is were mixed in the best way possible, very pleasing. A show that had previously been considered lukewarm, this time it proved to be more than hot, with an encore and everything, despite the very late time, as the band had a flight at 7 am to Brasília, the city that hosted the last show at Brasil in 2009. Highlight as always for the performative Amlak Tafari on bass, who seems to play his instrument as if he were his partner in a dance that begins when he enters the stage and only ends when he says goodbye to him. The guitar solos by David Hinds and Donovan Mckitty this time fit into the songs in a majestic way, and even the times when the group made mistakes in performing the songs, they went unnoticed by the majority of the audience, who seemed very involved with all the elements of the show. Selwyn Brown and his "Raps" in the songs featured the moments of greatest public interaction with the band, always inviting everyone to sing together. The show really was very good, and even some details regarding the sound, which could not be heard well in certain parts of the house (also due to its acoustics) did not take away from the shine of the event. And so it was another show from this Reggae legend at Brasil. Let The Congos, Ranking Joe come, and next year Israel Vibration, Groundation, Bambu Station, Max Romeo and many others that are already having their dates defined here.  Thanks: Max Santil, Mônica Carvalho, Dirceu Factum and Henrique Pesqueira
