EXCLUSIVE: Legendary Ranking Joe gives a Reggae lesson alongside Digital Dubs in Salvador!

Ranking Joe, one of the pioneering Jamaican MCs/Toasters, performed last Friday (November 11) in Salvador, alongside Rio de Janeiro's DigitalDubs Sound System. The artist, who began his career in 1974, is one of the great legends of the style, and on his first visit to the capital of Bahia he simply gave a true masterclass in reggae. Led by MPC, DigitalDubs was responsible for laying down the backing tracks that represented a true journey through various moments of Jamaican rhythm. Rhyming over riddims from classics by heavyweights such as Triston Palmer, Michael Prophet, Johnny Osbourne, Yellowman and other legends, Ranking Joe left the audience stunned with a performance lasting approximately 3 hours. Handing out smiles and showing he was extremely happy to be in Brazil, the toaster delivered one of the most unforgettable shows the Bahian public has ever seen. He simply did not stop, and after a set of one hour and forty minutes, when he returned for what everyone thought would be an encore of one or two songs, he tore up the stage for another hour and a half. The structures of Zauber Multicultura in Salvador were shaken by the bass and instrumental weight of a series of true reggae classics, interpreted in a unique way by Ranking Joe. Without a doubt, those who did not go, MISSED OUT. The artist continues on tour and will perform in the coming days in cities such as Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
