An ideal that became a philosophy of life, thus, the new CD of the bandNegroots, “Paz & Amor”, produced independently, was born. Having been on the road for almost 10 years, the bandNegrootstook around 5 months to finish the album, which has 12 tracks, all composed by vocalistGil Sant’Anna. The new work ranges from romantic songs such as “Uma rosa pra
you”, to more danceable singles, such as “Tempo de awakening” and “Paz e amor”, the track that gives the CD its name.
Recorded in the studio, the album records the union ofJuca Heblingon bass,Elsinhoon drums,Dilon lead guitar,Papinhaon percussion,Daniloon keyboards andGil Sant’Annaon rhythm guitar and vocals. The album has artistic direction byGil Sant’Annaand production bySamambaia, part of the renownedPlanta & Raiz.
“This is a very special work, as it marks our musical evolution from the first to the second album, using experiments with other African rhythms and softening chords to achieve a climate of peace and love.”, says Gil.
On the publicity tour forSão Pauloand surrounding areas, the bandNegrootsbrings to the public new songs from the second CD, remembers memorable tracks from the first work “Troque Pelo Bom” and even makes bold reinterpretations transforming songs fromCazuzaandBee Gees, into a tasteful reggae, which shows some of the references and different facets of the band.
As a gift to fans, the bandNegrootsofficially releases the CD “Paz & Amor”, on April 30, 2011, atEscondidinho da Amada, a bar/restaurant frequented by young and “Cult” audiences, where the band has history and plays every last Saturday of the month. Entry will be free with an artistic cover of R$3.00.
