Planta e Raiz releases "Planta Adubada", an album packed with the group's hits in DUB versions!

With a 13-year career, the São Paulo band Planta & Raiz has already released 6 CDs and 1 live DVD - which together sold 500 thousand copies - and has many hits on Brazilian radio and TV. Recognized as one of the biggest reggae bands in Brazil, Planta & Raiz has played in all the country's capitals, toured Australia, was present at the main Festivals and is among the most accessed names for videos and audios on the internet in this segment. Even with so much time on the road, Planta is always looking for new challenges. Therefore, two projects are being born together. One is the release of the band's first album outside Brazil, which comes out in the first half of December on Argentina. It is a "Best Of" from the group released by a local record label, Music Brokers. Simultaneously with the release of the CD, the label is preparing a promo-tour in the summer of 2012 in the land of hermanos.

O PLANTA ADUBADA

The other project is PLANTA ADUBADA, a CD with the band's greatest hits remixed in a dub version. The album began recording in 2009 at the Mundo Novo studio, which is also the home of the producer Buguinha Dub. Buguinha is a musician and producer from Recife who gained prominence in the Manguebit scene - of which he was a part - and worked with Mundo Livre S/A and Nação Zumbi, as well as bands such as Cordel do Fogo Encantado, Racionais MC’s, 3 Na Massa and Maquinado. The recording process for PLANTA ADUBADA began with the selection of the band's hits, along with the analog recording made by Buguinha, who used each room of the home studio to record different textures on the vintage equipment he works with. Each song was recorded, mixed and finished individually, which gave the album a exclusive personality in each track, with dub effects and resources that range from 70s spring reverbs, reel-to-reel recorders, space echo and up to Nature samples. If we close our eyes, we can make every song on this album visual. The song Com Certeza, Planta & Raiz's biggest hit, gained in the Adubada version a base of brass and keyboard that, even without knowing the lyrics, anyone who listens to it anywhere in the world will recognize its power. The repertoire also includes the songs Eu Também Faço Meu Jogo, Pra Poucos, Aquele Lugar, Qual é a Cara do Ladrão, Se Liga Natty Dread, O Que Você Disse, O Ragga, Segue a Vida and De Agora em Diante, which was mixed on the Audiofya by Bagão Dubalizer. If not all, the vast majority are singles worked on by the band.

Listening to this album, track by track, is a different experience and gives you the feeling of always listening to something new, even if it's your third or fourth listen, as each time new details are perceived and stir your feelings, providing peace and tranquility. It becomes even more interesting if it is possible to listen to the limited version that is being prepared on vinyl, as there the bass is reinforced by the raw material.
