From August onwards, reggae will invade the end of Sunday afternoons in Brasilândia. After 6pm the renowned Mecs Bar, known for being a rock bar, will open its doors to reggae by the band Negroots. The partnership aims not only to promote the band's work on the outskirts of São Paulo, but also to disseminate culture and artists from the region and other locations, linked to the movement of Jamaican origin.
“Our intention when closing this partnership is to bring artists we know along the road and share the stage with them” comments Gil Sant’Anna, vocalist and leader of the band Negroots. “No nosso domingo muitas surpresas rolarão” remains Gil. With 10 years on the road, Negroots has released 2 albums on the independent market and has been promoting its work through “Turnê Paz & Amor 2012”.
According to Gil, the north zone is lacking reggae and there is no shortage of people to enjoy the movement. Mecs Bar is located at Rua Rui of Morais Apocalispe, 83, at the end of Av. João Paulo with free entry.
