Cine Joia hosts singer Negra Li, rapper Helião of RZO and the acclaimed Reggae Style Band!

On December 15th, Saturday, Cine Joia hosts a show by singer Negra Li, with the participation of rapper Helião (RZO) and singer Luciana Andrade, in addition to the opening of the reggae band, Reggae Style, with the participation of Solano Jacob (ex-Leões de Israel). Negra Li, who began her career as a member of RZO, one of the main national rap groups of the 90s, has been pursuing a solo career since 2006, when she released her first album, entitled “Negra Livre”.“Tudo de Novo” is the São Paulo singer’s second solo album, released by Universal Music in June of this year, and produced by Rick Bonadio. This time, Negra Li focuses on soul music, with a strong influence from Tim Maia, Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin. Highlights include the tracks “Não Vá”, “Hoje eu Só Quero ser Feliz”, “Tudo de Novo”, which gives the album its name, and the swing composition “Volta pra Casa”, in partnership with Khristiano Oliveira. Little by little, Negra Li was gaining ground on the music scene, establishing partnerships with big names in Brazilian and American music, from samba to rock, including MPB, among them, Charlie Brown Jr., Caetano Veloso, Nando Reis, Martinho da Vila, Gabriel O Pensador, Akon and NX Zero.

JUNIOR DREAD & REGGAE STYLE BAND

Passing messages of peace, equal rights and justice, the Reggae Style Band emerged in the late 90s, in Vila Guilherme, a neighborhood in the north of São Paulo. For 10 years, the band has been carrying out an in-depth study of Rastafarian culture and its roots, with reggae music at its forefront. The first and only album “Em Meio ao Caos”, was recorded and released between 2001 and 2003, and, despite being an independent production, it sold more than 25 thousand copies. Reggae Style Band won fans wherever they went, standing out in the interior of São Paulo, Curitiba, Caldas Novas, Teresina, Belém, Rio de Janeiro and São Luis.
