"PUNK" RELATIONSHIP
The album was produced by Tim Armstrong, guitarist and vocalist of the punk band RANCID. They had never met before, but Jimmy Cliff had been highly recommended by a mutual friend of theirs, the late musician Joe Strummer, leader of the legendary punk band, The Clash. One of the songs on the album is actually a cover of the famous "Ruby Soho" (1995) by RANCID.

ABOUT THE ALBUM
Jimmy Cliff even declared that the album "Rebirth" (or Renascimento in Portuguese) does not have this name by chance. The singer says that the work speaks a lot about his personal growth, as an artist and as a man, and also about the "rebirth of the world" in his spiritualized vision.
