Just as happens with most beginning bands, artistic influences always end up guiding their future original work, and it was no different with Be Livin. The big difference between this band and most others is its school of reference.
Most follow the rich Jamaican tradition, mainly because the greatest names in the genre like Bob Marley, Burning Spear, etc. come from there, but this group from Pelotas (RS) chose an even smaller island as the cradle of their creations, the American Virgin Islands.

The album was recorded at the band's studio in Pelotas (RS), and mixed/mastered by Rafael Paz Curvelo of the Unidade 76 label from Brasília.

V.I. REGGAE
With just over 100,000 inhabitants, the Virgin Islands gave the world — if we may say so — a new branch of roots reggae. Called V.I. Reggae (Virgin Islands Reggae), its main characteristic is sonic density and conscious lyrics. If you know bands like Midnite, Dezarie, Bambu Station, Reemah, etc., then you know what we're talking about. Be Livin follows this branch in a very clear and committed way, although — according to the band themselves — they also draw from the Jamaican source. In the early days of Be Livin, around 2005, there was also another band from Rio Grande do Sul with this same approach, the now-defunct St. Croix Band.EVOLUÇÃO PELA PALAVRA
Released on June 14, "Evolução pela Palavra" is Be Livin's first official album, and strictly follows all that imposing bass and drum presence, prominent keyboards, musical meters that feel like mantras — in short, that entire hypnotic atmosphere so peculiar to V.I. Reggae.
