King Jammy is one of the most prolific talents in reggae, whose career spans half a century. Nearly 40 years since the original sessions, King Jammy revisits the seminal album that launched his career as producer. "News Sounds of Freedom" is a re-edition of Black Uhuru's "Love Crisis" (1977), featuring a variety of contemporary vocal talents. The 10-track album combines original audio with new lyrics, bringing a more current feel without failing to highlight the quality of the original sonic atmosphere. Alborosie, Chronixx, Dre Island, Gentleman, Kabaka Pirâmide and even veteran U-Roy are among those who sign the new lyrics of this production.

REVISION

This is not the first time "Love Crisis" has received a renewal. The original 1977 production had already been revamped in 1981 with "Black Sounds of Freedom", which not only updated its sonic quality but also presented its songs to a new and broader audience. The role of "News Sounds of Freedom" is practically the same, proving that the essence — even 40 years later — remains strong and relevant.
