BERIMBAU! Aline Duran releases a Vinícius de Moraes reinterpretation using Damian Marley riddim!

Singer and songwriter Aline Duran releases "Berimbau", the first single from her brand new EP. The reinterpretation of the famous song by Vinícius de Moraes and Baden Powell takes on fresh life over the instrumental backdrop of "Road to Zion" by Damian Marley, and is already being performed live at the artist's shows. A few months after the release of her landmark duet — "I Believe in You" — with legend Bunny Rugs and a remix by Ranking Joe, Aline Duran kicks off the promotion of her new EP. Containing six tracks, the project will feature songs by renowned artists interpreted by the singer, set over Jamaican instrumental backings known as "riddims". The EP will be released independently, with tracks made available for free month by month on the artist's website. The EP is a kind of sonic collage — I wanted to interpret works by artists I admire, set within the Jamaican universe. I've already been playing these songs at my shows and audiences have loved them. They're very unusual reggae versions, drawing from rock, bossa, pop, jazz and soul." — explains Aline. The tracks were recorded at the "Haze Sounds" studio, owned by producer Leo Grijó (ex-Stereodubs) in São Paulo, and mixed by Guilherme Schwenck. The graphic artwork is by William Vankar, who also oversees the musical production of the show, promising to be the most powerful of the artist's career.
