The Congos returns to its full lineup and will be in South America in May with French artist Rod Anton!
The Congos is one of the most traditional, charismatic and classic groups of Jamaican Reggae. With more than 40 years since its founding, it is formed by Cedric Myton, Roydell “Ashanti” Johson, Kenroy "Talash" Fyffe and Derrick "Watty" Burnett, who had left the quartet and has just returned for a South American tour. On stage these gentlemen put on a real show and off it they are an example of humility and attention to fans. In the discography, the quartet has many pearls, among them the album “Heart of The Congos”, considered by media outlets such as Billboard and Revista Rolling Stone as one of the best in the history of music of all styles. The list of classics is long, among them “Fisherman”, “Thief is in the Vineyard”, “Yoyo”, “Ark of the Covenant” and “Youth Man”.
(“The Congos” live at Uprising Festival in Slovakia)
The Congos were in Brazil in November 2017, but several cities could not host the shows due to schedule incompatibility. The good news is that they will return in May with the presence of Watty Burnett, known as “the voice of thunder”, very well accompanied by Leões de Israel. Dates are already confirmed in three countries.

ROD ANTON

(The Frenchman Rod Anton will join The Congos)
More great news is that Rod Anton, a highlight of French roots reggae, will open some of the tour's shows. Rod has a history with The Congos and among his major releases is the album “Reasoning” - awarded and acclaimed by the public and critics. The artist's great passions include Jamaican and Brazilian music, as he was born in France but is the son of Portuguese parents. Rod has already recorded with names such as The Congos, Max Romeo and Midnite and frequently performs at major festivals in Europe.
