After two years away from the stage, the band iKenfroN returns at full strength. This comeback is marked by the release of the first music video of its career, with the original song “Nunca Foi”. The band went through an internal restructuring process and, with its new lineup, produced the CD “Para você lembrar”, scheduled for release later this year. The group is also known for producing music for several local artists in Salvador, both in reggae and hip-hop, through its label iKLab (iK Laboratório). The song “Nunca foi” represents this moment of independence the band is experiencing, a cry for freedom, the reaction of the oppressed revealing their strength through awareness of their role. “Just as water defeats the hardest stone, every tyrant will be brought down!” is one of the strongest lines in the song. The music video was recorded at the Sapiranga Ecological Reserve in the municipality of Mata de São João on the coast of Bahia, directed and written by Italian filmmaker Dario Vetere. Living in paradise, surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape, a group of natives feels they are being pursued by cruel men who try to surround and capture them.
