Keith Anderson, better known as Bob Andy, has just left us. Celebrated as one of Jamaica's great songwriters, Bob was born in Kingston and had a very difficult childhood.
At 7 years old he lived with his grandmother, who died, and then his mother put him up for adoption, a moment in which Andy suffered a lot and reported mistreatment and being beaten by his adoptive parents.
Bob taught himself to play piano and began singing in the church choir. There he met Tyrone Evans and formed his first musical duo - “The Binders”. Bob was one of the founders of the Paragons, with Tyrone and Howard Barrett, with the lineup later completed by John Holt.

The artist released a series of albums and was known internationally. Andy was fighting pancreatic cancer and promised to return to the stage soon. Unfortunately, his health was fragile and he ended up succumbing to the disease.
See this and other legends who have already left us in the special "In Memoriam" section.

Among Bob Andy's hits are "I’ve Got to Go Back Home”, "Feeling Soul", "Unchained", "Too Experienced" and “Fell Like Jumping”. Artists such as Ken Boothe, Barrington Levy and Marcia Griffiths recorded his songs.
