DEM A WAR! Brazilian producer Killah Keys releases a heavy track with icon Linval Thompson. Listen!

In 2020, during the pandemic, keyboardist, arranger, and music producer Killah Keys began a remarkable project. The idea was to collaborate with veteran Jamaican artist Linval Thompson. Right away, the Jamaican artist liked the Brazilian's creations and, when introduced to the "Insidious Riddim" (an instrumental created by Killah), recorded "Dem a War", the first single from the collaboration between the two. Linval Thompson is a true legend. He was born in 1954 in Jamaica and continues recording his voice through striking and captivating melodies, as well as touring with appearances at major festivals.

Killah Keys is a Brazilian based in Australia and has been cooperating with an incredible team of musicians from all over the world. "Dem a War" features none other than Tony Ruption (drummer of Third World) and Brazilians Douglas Earl (bass), Thales "Lion Farmer" (guitar), and Dada Yute (backing vocals). The mix is by Spanish producer Roberto Sanchez and the mastering by Englishman Wayne "Lotek" Benett. The track is available on digital platforms and was also released as a 7’’ single (vinyl), accompanied by the DUB version. In addition to Linval Thompson, Killah Keys already has tracks with other icons of global reggae, but that is a subject for another article. ;)
