Reggalyze, reggae band from Natal, awarded "Musical Revelation 2001".

Reggalyze, reggae
The reggae band Potiguar Reggalyze proved once again that reggae is music for the masses; the band once again took the rhythm to the highest point of Norte Rio-Grandense Music, this time by being congratulated as "Musical Revelation 2001" with more than 45% of the popular jury's votes. They received the "Clave de Sol" trophy during the award ceremony of the fourth edition of the Hangar Prize held at Teatro Alberto Maranhão, Natal / RN. Besides the category that earned them victory, contested by four other nominees who were bands and musicians of other styles, Reggalyze also competed in two more categories: Instrumentalist Revelation with drummer Pascoal Neto and Best Vocalist with Sidney Cavalcanti. Upon receiving the trophy, vocalist Sidney Cavalcanti emphasized: "We proved that reggae is not only for the excluded; everyone, without any discrimination, can enjoy the music of peace and love!" Enthusiastic guitarist Dinarte Filho recalled: The true jury is the Popular one, because it does not judge by how many chords make a song or how many notes the musician plays per second, but by the energy and message the band conveys. This prize was recognition of brilliant local work done in 2001, a year in which Reggalyze also won the state's biggest band contest "PopRock Tropical", where even among various rock bands, they enchanted everyone with their Roots Reggae. Now in 2002 the band wants to continue the good work, but plans for it to be more focused outside the state.
