ATTITUDE: Launch party for the new CD by the band RAÍZES RASTA!
Reggae fans can't miss this: Raízes Rasta takes the stage at Clube Jundiaiense in Jundiaí on August 16 with a super show. The band promises to shake the venue's foundations with the best the genre has to offer. The music starts rolling at 10 pm, along with two other major attractions on the national reggae scene: the bands Maskavo (DF) and Canamaré (RJ) and DJ Marcelo Tux on the decks.
This show will kick off the new phase of Raízes Rasta, which launches its new CD in Jundiaí, its hometown. Without leaving its roots behind, the band has now made a big leap in the phonographic world and joined the best of Brazilian music: the Grupo Music label and Trama record company. Trama, one of the most solid structures in the business, took on distribution of the CD "Atitude", which already enters the market with due respect. This is the band's second album in its four years of existence. The expectation, according to the group, is to reach a significant sales figure by the end of the year and establish itself as one of the country's great reggae bands.
The album has the best of reggae, with compositions easily identifiable to the public and engaging melodies that turn even those less passionate about Bob Marley's sound into unconditional fans of the band. The investment for this was heavy. In production, fellow Jundiaí native Paulo Calasans, a celebrated musician and producer established in Rio de Janeiro for years, who has been on stage with or produced names like Djavan, Jorge Vercilo, Gilberto Gil and Marisa Monte. Sound engineering and digital editing were handled by Renato Luiz, who worked with Paralamas do Sucesso, Legião Urbana, Cássia Eller, Titãs, among many others.
The band also featured participation from one of the market's most prestigious horn sections: Valmir Gil, François Lima and Marcelo Martins. The new Cia do Som studio, one of the best studios in the state of São Paulo, was responsible for recording throughout the process, and mixes at Mixdown Studio — by Torquato Mariano — in Rio de Janeiro, gave the finishing touches to the CD. Digital mastering was done by Carlos Freitas in São Paulo. Cover and booklet art was by Elifas Andreato, one of Brazil's greatest designers.
"Atitude", therefore, has everything it takes to explode on radios across Brazil. To top it off, by the end of this month the band Raízes Rasta will finish recording the music video for "Luz do Sol", the album's lead track. It promises to be a hit. And radio promotion has already started through the Rádio Rock group (São Paulo – 89FM, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Vitória, Campinas and Sorocaba) and the RBS group (RS, SC and PR), which from August will have the song on national network.
