Don't miss: Sesc Pompéia hosts launch show for Dagô & Radical Roots' album "Dreadlock"!

Singer and songwriter Dagô Miranda releases his second CD entitled "Dreadlock". The singer, who recorded his first album with guest appearances from Bob Marley's legendary band - The Wailers - and the band Steel Pulse, performs at Sesc Pompéia, accompanied by his band Radical Roots, on the 15th, Thursday, at 8 pm, at the Choperia. In the show, the artist conveys messages of attitude, peace, hope and love.
The trajectory of Dagô Miranda and his group, Radical Roots, began in São Paulo in the early 90s. It was the time when the city became the capital of reggae, thanks to the efforts of three DJs and radio hosts. One of them was Otávio Rodrigues, who ran Disco Reggae Night at Aeroanta. The other two were Jai Mahal and China Kane, who ran another dance dedicated to the Jamaican genre at Dama Xoc. Now extinct, the two venues seeded various reggae groups, such as Skank, Cidade Negra and Tribo de Jah and Dagô himself, who released his debut album after ten years of work.
Dagô Miranda is one of the main vocalists to emerge on the São Paulo reggae scene. He is inspired by roots reggae that takes us back to Bob Marley and the vocalises of Jacob Miller, former singer of Inner Circle. It is easy to perceive this influence in his songs. Radical Roots plays well-defined reggae, but not dated. On this new CD "Dreadlock" there are tracks to dance to, such as the title song (whose horns remind us of the best moments of the British band Steel Pulse). Mama Terra, Ser Feliz (Amor) and Orai, Vigiai (A Babilônia Vai Cair) bring a collaboration between São Paulo reggae with one of the main authorities on chacundum from São Luís, Fauzi Beydoun, composer of the first track, co-author of the second alongside Dagô Miranda and collaborates with the powerful voice of "Beato Salu Rastafari" on the third. It is important to highlight the presence of singer Luciana Simões, from the group Mystical Roots, on Ser Feliz. Dreadlock also includes a dub, a Jamaican genre, on its final track entitled "Dub Principal".
