Thursday with the psychedelia of DubVersão in Vila Madalena! Check everything that happened here on Surforeggae!

O Dub, born in Jamaica in the late 60s, now invades the city of São Paulo every Thursday and Friday. "Psychedelic reggae" or the "B-side" of Jamaican records now has two fixed events with DubVersão in Vila Madalena on Thursdays and Susi In Dub every Friday, which today features special guest Vitor Rice, the American who played bass on the historic album "Dub Side Of the Moon", which is a DUB version of one of the planet's best-selling albums, "Dark Side Of The Moon" by Pink Floyd.
Last Thursday Surforeggae was present to check out DJs Magrão and Corpo Santo rocking the DubVersão audience, with guest appearances by Cris (guitar and vocals) and Mau (bass) from the band Afetos, who perform every Thursday at the same venue, except on that Thursday when the resident band was "Fábrica de Groove", which didn't let the crowd cool down for a millisecond — in other words, despite being a DUB event, the sound isn't restricted to the style alone, also always showing a bit of samba, afoxé, bunda-meu-boi, maracatu, jazz, blues, groove, roots reggae, dancehall, raggamuffin and so on.

SUSI IN DUB
VITOR RICE
Words from Vitor Rice about Susi In Dub (with his drawn-out Portuguese, of course): March 18, 2004 "it's been a while since I wrote, but only because I came back to SPBR and I'm in so much peace... you might complain about this summer, but I think it's nice! I came back from playing melodica at my favorite place in SP, Susi In Dub, every Friday from 00:00 to 5:00. this party, after almost 2 years, seems like it's going to stay — so you can memorize where it is. R. Vitoria 810 between Av São João and Largo Arouche (careful brothers: the women are MEN!)" "...in my opinion, maestro DJ Yellow P is a big reason I want to live in this huge city. besides having unbeatable taste in Jamaican music (like Nelson Meirelles and Otávio Rodrigues), Yellow P has the most easily found technique in the hip-hop world. I mean, he raises the equipment to the level of a sophisticated musical instrument. with the help of Maestro MC Zulu, vinyl becomes almost a living person..."EVENT IMAGES
