Jackie Brown has one of the most recognizable voices in Jamaican music. Born in the Portland community, he began singing in church at the age of 7. Inevitably, his professional singing career began in 1972 when he scored his first hit "One Night Of Sin" for the Jamaican label Tip Top. The song spent 18 weeks at the top of the charts on the island, and more than 6 months as one of the most played. Over the years, Jackie won over audiences around the world, and it was in Brazil that he found a legion of fans. In 2000, on his first tour of Brazil, wherever he went, he was honored by huge crowds. Since then, the singer has returned to Brazil to show his fans his work. The person responsible for bringing him this time is our friend, Ronaldo Alperin. Once again the Brazilian public will have a great opportunity to see Jackie Brown perform live, one of the singers who are part of the "golden age" of Jamaican music.
