Word, Sound & Power: The band St. Croix sees the light, and things are changing in the Reggae world!

The moment we begin to believe in something greater, transcending the physical and material barrier, perhaps the complexity of LIFE, nature and our own essence can begin to be understood. However, demagoguery and hypocrisy seem to be increasingly present in our daily lives, making the struggle in search of knowledge, culture and information indispensable. There is no doubt that controversial facts can lead human beings to the highest levels of research, thereby elevating the intellect and mental health of humanity.
Therefore, the St. Croix band, in this first year celebrated in March 2004, renews its initial proposal to disseminate, through the world wide web, works on the most varied themes within the band's central idea, namely the musical style consecrated by Marley.
What do Haile Selassie I, the Ethiopian emperor, and one of the best-known figures on this planet called Jesus of Nazareth have in common? Could they be related? And the Lion of Judah? Where is its correlation with reggae? Where is the link between the 12 tribes of Israel, the exodus to the promised land and Jamaican culture? Etc...
The St. Croix band seeks to interact with its community with this purpose. Achieving lucidity within this universe of contradictions. Therefore, the invitation is open. Why not attract good vibrations to our temples? The musical group is beginning to find a new tuning in its melodies, always in the light of the steadfast guidelines of the new school of the Virgin Islands (MIDNITE).
Shows held at Território da Paz and Opinião proved to the band members that political and religious reggae finds a good space in the city. The neighborhoods offer new crops of musicians linked to the same lineage. This truly drives a repressed feeling among those who uphold respect for roots reggae. There seems to be a reversal of the values predetermined by the media, record labels and local radio stations.
