Djambi is one of the most experienced Brazilian reggae bands on the international scene. In nine years on the road it has already released four career CDs - "Vai ser isso" (1997, through the Culture Incentive Law), "Keep this feeling" (2000, recorded in Switzerland with independent production), "Djambi ao Vivo em Chicago" (2001, recorded in the United States with independent production), and "Barca" (through the Culture Incentive Law) - a compilation "Djambi" (2001, by the French label Mosaic Music Riddim & Progresso), and a DVD ("Djambi ao Vivo no Moinho São Roque", produced by Fimcenter). In 2004, the label Orbeat Music is releasing the album "Na Trilha", a compilation with 17 Djambi songs. The album has special guest appearances: singer Armandinho on the song "Barca", and Chimarruts on "Outro Verão" (unreleased and composed in partnership between the two bands). Djambi's story begins in 1995, in Curitiba (PR), with the aim of spreading positive vibrations through its music and messages, bringing reggae to all hearts. Since then, it received three Saul Trumpet awards: Revelation Artist with the CD "Vai ser isso" (1999), Highlight of Paraná Music with the CD "Ao Vivo em Chicago" (2002), and "Barca" was considered the best World Music CD in Paraná (2003). In 2001 it was considered the best Reggae Band in Brazil, through elections among listeners of the University Circuit and the Reggae Circuit of São Paulo. Djambi has already shared the stage with major names in world reggae, such as: Junior Marvin and Andrew McInter (ex- The Waillers), Jamaicans Peter Broggs, Pappa Winnie, Andrew Tosh, Muta Baruka and Scientist, Izrah from Saint Lucia (Caribbean), and Yellen from Ivory Coast. The first international tour came from an invitation by Junior Marvin and, since then, the band has been performing a circuit of shows across the European continent. Departing for its sixth tour, in June 2004, Djambi will perform shows, workshops and cultural exchange activities in France, Italy and Slovenia. Na Trilha contains Djambi's greatest hits throughout its history, and an unreleased track composed especially for this album. The work highlights the solid relationship among artists from the south and especially from the reggae movement, which spreads more and more across Brazil and wins new followers every day.
